On July 6, Consul General Zhao Shiren received Deputy General Manager Wang Xiaobing of China Norinco International Co Ltd. at the Consulate General. Consul General Zhao was appraised about the operation of Orange Metro Line Lahore and exchanged views on the business development of Norinco in Pakistan.
Consul General Zhao said that the Lahore Orange Line is the first metro in Pakistan and one of the most advanced urban railway projects in South Asia. Adopting Chinese equipment, technology, standards and design, it has become another example of successful Chinese “going global”. Lahore Orange Line project has overcome many obstacles and been put into operation, which not only provides convenience to the citizens of Lahore, but also vividly demonstrates the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic and cooperative partnership. Norinco is advised to pay more attention to safety and corporate social responsibility, and continue to do well in operation & maintenance and explore the market, thus helping China-Pakistan economic and trade cooperation develop further. The Consulate General is willing to stand by Norinco and assist in solving the difficulties and problems encountered in the operation and maintenance of the project.
Deputy General Manager Wang Xiaobing thanked the Consulate General for the strong support and assistance given to the Orange Line and said that under the guidance of the Consulate General and the corporate headquarters, Norinco will ensure coordinated operation and maintenance, and further exert its advantages to make greater contributions to promoting China-Pakistan relations and the regional interconnectivity.
