On February 24, Consul General Zhao Shiren attended the 4th Gender Equality and Women Empowerment Seminar with the theme of “March Forward”. More than 300 representatives from Punjab government departments, financial institutes, universities, and corporate world were present.
In his speech, CG Zhao appreciated the efforts of the Punjab government and all sectors of society in promoting gender equality and women empowerment, and also briefed China's achievements and experiences in this field. Consul General Zhao remarked that women are playing a crucial role in economic and social development as well as scientific and technological progress. 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration of the World Conference on Women, and with the high-quality development of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), China is willing to provide more support for inclusive growth and empowerment of the Pakistani women. CG Zhao also extended greetings to the Pakistani women on the upcoming International Women’s Day.
The seminar was organized by the “SheMatters”, an organization for Women Empowerment, and the participants discussed digital empowerment and education equity, and shared their insights on how to develop “Her Wisdom” and “Her Power”.
