DCG Cao Ke Attends the Second Anniversary Ceremony of the Orange Metro Line in Lahore

On October 25, 2022, Deputy Consul General Cao Ke was invited to attend the ceremony to celebrate the second anniversary of the opening of Lahore's Orange Line for rail transport. General Manager of Operations of the Punjab Mass Transit Authority Ozair, Consul Zhao Fushan and others attended the event.


Deputy Consul General Cao Ke said that the Orange Line is the first urban railway system in Pakistan and the first large-scale infrastructure project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor under the Belt and Road Initiative. Over the past two years, the Orange Line staff have overcome repeated epidemics, unstable power supply and foggy weather, and its operational indicators have reached international advanced standards, providing a convenient, green and safe travel experience for the people of Lahore, which has been praised well by all parties. The project not only boosted Punjab's confidence in improving local economic and social development, but also further strengthened the determination of both China and Pakistan to promote the construction of the Corridor with high quality development.


Mr Ozair said that the Orange Metro Line is a model of cooperation between China and Pakistan under the CPEC umbrella and a real project for the benefit of the people, and hoped that the teams from both countries would make further efforts to contribute more to the construction and development of Lahore.
