ACG Cao Ke Attends the Graduation Ceremony of the Chinese Language Training Course for the Special Protection Unit (SPU) in Punjab

    On September 17, Acting Consul General Cao Ke attended and delivered a speech at the closing ceremony of the Chinese language training course for the Special Protection Unit (SPU) in Punjab. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Punjab Police and Commander of SPU Tayyab, Dean of Confucius Institute of Punjab University Shafiq, President of Lahore Overseas Chinese Association Luo Jianxue, Vice President of Pakistan (China) Shandong Chamber of Commerce Cheng Xiaonong, President of Chinese Chamber of Commerce Zeng Lingbin, and President of Panda Chamber of Commerce Chen Yan were present.

    ACG Cao Ke thanked all the teachers for their hard work and fully affirmed the learning achievements of the trainees, saying that this year is the 10th anniversary of the "One Belt, One Road" Initiative and also the 10th  anniversary of the launch of the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and that SPU has made outstanding contributions to the protection of the security of Chinese nationals, projects and enterprises in Punjab, and to the promotion of the construction of the CPEC. Assisting SPU in capacity building is a concrete initiative of the Consulate General to implement the Global Security Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, and it is expected that Punjab will create a safer and more stable environment for foreign investors, including Chinese.

    DIG Mr. Tayyab thanked the Consulate General for its strong support for the training course and said it will organize Chinese language training for all SPU officers and soldiers to try their best to protect the lives and properties of Chinese nationals in Punjab.

    The guests awarded certificates to the outstanding trainees.
