On July 18, Consul General Zhao Shiren met with Yusuf, Vice Chancellor of Beaconhouse National University (BNU) and Former National Security Advisor of Pakistan, to exchange views on inter-university cooperation and public diplomacy.

Consul General Zhao Shiren congratulated Yusuf on his assumption of the new post and appreciated his contribution to the development of China-Pakistan relations during his tenure in the public service, saying that China and Pakistan are All-Weather Strategic Cooperative partners, and the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries are progressing smoothly at all levels. Beaconhouse National University (BNU) is the first non-profit liberal arts institution in Pakistan, and the Consulate General is willing to play the role of a bridge to promote personnel exchanges and inter-university cooperation between BNU and Chinese colleges and universities, so as to tell a good China-Pakistan story and promote China-Pakistan civil friendship together.

Yusuf welcomed Consul General Zhao's visit and introduced the University's History and Disciplinary Characteristics, and said he looked forward to strengthening communication with the Consulate General, carrying out practical cooperation with the relevant Chinese universities and scientific research institutions, strengthening people-to-people exchanges, and jointly advancing Pakistan-China Educational Cooperation and bilateral relations to a new level.
