On August 26, Consul General Zhao Shiren attended the donation ceremony of medical equipment to Jinnah Hospital. Mr. Gohar Ejaz, the Chairman of the hospital board of directors and Federal Minister for Commerce, Industries and Production and Mr. Sultan, the hospital Director were also present at the event.

Consul General Zhao said that China's assistance in the construction of Jinnah Hospital many years ago to improve the local public healthcare environment has demonstrated the "Iron-core" friendship between China and Pakistan. In order to pass on this affection and strengthen the foundation of China-Pakistan public opinion, the Consulate General donated two hemodialysis machines to the hospital to provide medical convenience for the general public. This year marks the 72nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, and also the 10th anniversary of the launch of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Healthcare cooperation is an important part of the construction of the Corridor, which has an impact on the health of Pakistani people. The Consulate General is willing to strengthen contacts with Jinnah Hospital and carry out medical technology exchanges and training, to better serve the people of Punjab.

    Minister Ejaz thanked the Consulate General for its generous donation, saying that China-Pakistan friendship has a long history and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is the flagship project of cooperation between the two countries, and that Jinnah Hospital is willing to strengthen practical cooperation with the Consulate General to bring more benefits to the Pakistani people.
