On November 28, Consul General Zhao Shiren attended the “Consul General China Scholarship” award ceremony held at the University of Central Punjab and delivered a speech.The event was also attended by Prof. Dr. Khalid Manzoor Butt, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as more than 400 students and faculty members.

    Consul General Zhao warmly congratulated the 12 scholarship recipients and said that as the CPEC enters the second phase of high-quality development, the Chinese government will pay more attention to the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education, healthcare and other social and livelihood areas. The establishment of   “Consul General Scholarship” in the University is a concrete initiative in this regard, aiming to support and encourage students in Punjab to study hard, strive for excellence, grow up to be useful to their hometowns, society and the country, and contribute positively to the traditional friendship and friendly relations between China and Pakistan.

    On behalf of the faculty and students, Prof. Dr. Khalid thanked the Consulate General for setting up the scholarship at UCP and looked forward to close exchanges and cooperation between the two sides to jointly nurture the successors of China-Pakistan friendship.

Before the ceremony started, Consul General Zhao also met with Dr. Hadia Awan, Pro-Rector of  UCP.
