CG Zhao Shiren Exchanges Views with Punjab Chief Minister Naqvi on Smog

    On January 17, Consul General Zhao Shiren met with Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Lahore to exchange views on the visit of China’s smog control team. Environmental protection experts from Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China including Ms. Xu Haihong, Mr. Chu Yangxi and Mr. Zheng Yixuan attended the meeting.

Consul General Zhao Shiren thanked the Punjab government for inviting the smog team and making meticulous arrangements for their visit. CG said the Chinese government has fought the smog with strict measures and remarkable results, and China’s experience can be shared but not be copied. The Consulate General is willing to continue to cooperate with the provincial government to win the "Battle for Blue Sky".

CM Naqvi thanked the Consulate General for actively supporting the Punjab smog control and effectively coordinating the visit of Chinese environmental protection experts, and highly appreciated the professionalism, dedication and performance of the Chinese experts. Naqvi further said that the team held discussions with the relevant departments of the Punjab province, visited the industrial units, analyzed the causes of the smog in Lahore and put forward countermeasures to control the smog, which met the expectation. Naqvi hoped Chinese experts would continue to offer advice and suggestions to help the Punjab government make new progress in smog control.
