On February 7, Consul General Zhao Shiren met with Consul General-designate of Pakistan to Shanghai Shahzad Ahmad and had an in-depth exchange of views on China-Pakistan relations, the building of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and general election of Pakistan. Trade and Investment Counselor-designate of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Guangzhou Imran Ahmed was also present.

CG Zhao congratulated Shahzad on his appointment, and highlighted the current status of China-Pakistan relations, the progress of the CPEC projects in the consular district and the prospects of China's economic development. CG Zhao further expressed his willingness to work together to promote the development of bilateral relations and deepen the friendship between the two peoples.

    Shahzad said he was very honored to be the Consul General of Pakistan in Shanghai and willing to actively promote the local exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and contribute to the development of Pakistan-China relations during his tenure.
