CG Zhao Shiren Meets with Punjab Home Secretary Noor-ul-Ameen Mengal

On April 19, 2024, Consul General Zhao Shiren met with Noor-ul-Ameen Mengal, Home Secretary Punjab, and exchanged views on strengthening the security of Chinese nationals and institutions in Punjab. Special Secretary Fazal-Ur-Rehman, Deputy Consul General Cao Ke and others also attended the meeting.

CG Zhao Shiren congratulated Mengal on his new posting and said that the Home Department shoulders great responsibility in combating terrorism and protecting security of foreign nationals & institutions. It was hoped that the two sides could further strengthen cooperation and take strong & effective measures to ensure the security of Chinese enterprises, institutions and nationals in Punjab, in a bid to create a safe environment for investment.

Mengal briefed CG Zhao Shiren on the security situation in Punjab and the relevant measures taken recently. He said he is willing to strengthen working relations with the Chinese Consulate General to ensure better implementation of relevant security measures.

The two sides also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
