On August 27, 2026, Consul General Sun Yan visited the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI). Mr. Muhammad Ali Humayoon Butt, President of GCCI, and other representatives attended the meeting.

  CG Sun Yan commended GCCI for its positive role in promoting China-Pakistan economic and trade cooperation. He stated that China is willing to work hand in hand with all sectors in Punjab to explore cooperation potential in areas such as digital economy, green energy, cross-border e-commerce, and modern agriculture. He highlighted that these efforts will help create local jobs, expand Pakistan's exports to China, and drive bilateral economic and trade cooperation to new heights. The two sides will jointly advance the high-quality construction of CPEC 2.0 to build an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.

  Mr. Humayoon spoke highly of the ironclad friendship between Pakistan and China and noted the close economic and trade exchanges between the two countries. He expressed that GCCI is willing to make new contributions to continuously promoting Pakistan-China exchanges and cooperation.
