On August 28, 2026, Consul General Sun Yan paid a courtesy call on Mr. Khurram Dastgir Khan, former Federal Minister of Pakistan.

  CG Sun Yan commended Mr. Khurram Dastgir Khan for his positive contributions to promoting China-Pakistan relations during his tenure as Federal Minister. He stated that the Communist Party of China attaches great importance to its traditional friendly relations with PML-N. China is willing to work with the Pakistani side to fully implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, advance the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and deepen and substantiate the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

  Mr. Khurram Dastgir Khan stated that the Pakistan-China friendship, which has a time-honoured history and has withstood the test of shifting international landscapes, constitutes a precious asset for the two peoples. As a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative, CPEC has promoted Pakistan’s economic and social development and improved people’s livelihoods. Speaking highly of the remarkable development achievements China has attained under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, Mr. Khurram reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to deepen practical cooperation with China across various sectors and advance Pakistan-China relations with steady and sustained progress.
