On September 10, 2026, Consul General Sun Yan attended the celebration marking the 75th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan. Prof. Dr. Asif Ali, Vice Chancellor of the university, and Mr. Sarfraz Hussain Magsi, Special Secretary for Agriculture of the South Punjab Secretariat, together with over 100 faculty members and students of the university, attended the event.

  CG Sun Yan remarked that the ironclad friendship between China and Pakistan is a shared choice of the two peoples. As the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) enters a new stage of high-quality development, agricultural cooperation and talent cultivation are of particular importance. He encouraged young students to immerse themselves in agricultural studies, learn more about Chinese culture, act as inheritors of bilateral friendship and builders of CPEC 2.0.

  Prof. Dr. Asif stated that China-Pakistan friendship grows stronger with the passage of time. He looked forward to deepening cooperation with Chinese universities and research institutions to contribute to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.

  On the same day, Consul General Sun visited the Multan Agriculture Secretariat, Mango Research Institute and the Agri Mall, exchanging views with local agricultural officials and experts on ways to further deepen cooperation.
