On September 10, 2026, Consul General Sun Yan attended a ceremony in Multan for the donation of school kits to the deserving children in South Punjab. Mr. Fuad Hashim Rabbani, Additional Chief Secretary of South Punjab, as well as local teachers and student representatives were present.

  CG Sun Yan stated that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations. The donation represents a concrete step to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and advance the "small and beautiful" livelihood projects. It also embodies the spirit of the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Father of the Nation of Pakistan, once stressed that “Education is a matter of life and death for a nation.” CG Sun expressed the hope that these school supplies will help the deserving local children pursue their studies with peace of mind and chase their dreams for the future, illuminate the light of hope through knowledge, and carry forward China-Pakistan friendship with concrete actions.

  Mr. Rabbani thanked China for its contributions to improving the educational environment in South Punjab. He pledged that the donated supplies will be properly managed and utilized to help more underprivileged children return to school.
