On September 17, 2026, the Consulate General of China in Lahore grandly held a reception celebrating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.Mr. Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Speaker of the Punjab Provincial Assembly, attended and delivered a speech. Nearly 300 guests, including Punjab provincial dignitaries, representatives from all walks of life, representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises and overseas Chinese, were present.

  CG Sun Yan briefed the guests on the remarkable achievements of Chinese modernization and the fine qualities of the Communist Party of China. He expressed readiness to work with all sectors in Punjab to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and jointly build an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.

  Mr. Malik extended warm congratulations on China’s National Day. He recalled his visit to China with deep affection and spoke highly of China’s achievements in poverty alleviation and primary-level governance. He noted that Punjab stands ready to draw on China’s governance experience, enhance the quality and upgrading the execution of CPEC 2.0 in Punjab, and jointly write a new chapter in Pakistan-China friendship.
