On September 20, 2026, the Lahore Overseas Chinese Association and the Pakistan Overseas Chinese Association jointly hosted a celebration for the Mid-Autumn Festival and China’s National Day. Consul General Sun Yan was invited to attend and deliver a speech.

CG Sun Yan extended festival greetings to overseas Chinese compatriots in Punjab. He noted that in July this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered important instructions on overseas Chinese affairs, charting the course and providing important guidelines for advancing overseas Chinese affairs in the new era. This year marks the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations. He expressed the hope that overseas Chinese compatriots will continue to serve as a bridge and link, actively tell China's stories well, jointly safeguard and consolidate the traditional China-Pakistan friendship, and contribute to further deepening the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between China and Pakistan.

Representatives of the overseas Chinese community expressed that celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival and China’s National Day with fellow compatriots overseas brought them great warmth and kinship. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the development of their motherland, actively promoting friendly exchanges between China and Pakistan, and making positive contributions to enhancing friendship between the two peoples.
